What is the EMP Teen Model Team?
What is the EMP Teen Model Team? It's a wonderful way for high school teens to not only gain experience in front of the camera, but also to express and celebrate their individuality in an imaginative way.
The EMP Teen Model Team actually consists of two teams: The Senior Team (currently, Class of 2025), and the Ones2Watch Team, which includes emerging Sophomores (2027) and Juniors (2026).
The applications for both teams open in January of each year, and the selections are made by early February.
Who qualifies to be an EMP Model? YOU DO! All teens in their Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years of high school can apply to be on this year's team. No model experience is necessary.
The EMP Model Team is truly a representation of all the vastly different types of teens in Columbus Ohio - all beautiful (and handsome) in their own unique way!
Being on the EMP Teen Model Team for Seniors is the ultimate experience! We start off with an introductory session, and then team members can select their favorite themed sessions to participate in. Every year the themes are different, but all are fun and unique. This year I've planned some new ideas, including themed friend sessions, fashion inspired urban sessions, and a special field trip to a unique location in Cincinnati.
The best part about being on the EMP Teen Model Team for Seniors is participation in creative portrait sessions. I am constantly creating images for international photographic competitions throughout the year, and I also teach creative portrait workshops to other photographers. Any time I plan for these images I seek models first from The EMP Teen Model Team for Seniors.
Sound like fun? IT IS!!
There is no cost to be on the EMP Teen Model Team for Seniors. Some, not all of the sessions require advanced hair and makeup services, and models are required to cover that at a rate of $150 per session. But I provide plenty of opportunities for models to participate in sessions at no cost to them.

(1-10 images per session depending on the complexity of the session styling and editing)

The EMP Ones2WatchTeen Model Team is a great way to dip your toe into the model team experience. This team if for emerging Sophomores and Juniors (classes of 2026 and 2027). Ones2Watch Teen Model Team members will particiate in one session, and you can choose between either a studio session or an outdoor session.
There is no cost to be on the EMP Teen Model Team - Ones2Watch.
Perks for being on the team include:
~ Web-sized watermarked images from your session to share on-line ~
(usually 5-6 images)
~You earn $100 toward your senior photo session collection ~
(this can be accumulated for every year your participate on the team)
~ The EMP Teen Model Team Magazine ~
~ Images from your model session will be added to your senior photo gallery ~
Occasionally I ask members from this team if they'd like to participate in special creative portrait projects. Some, not all of those projects, require advanced hair and makeup services, and models are required to cover that fee at a rate of $150 per session.
